What are your contributions to the team?
- Adhere to Bombardier General Work Rules
- Propose, oversee and implement tax planning strategies to minimize EPS and cash outflow Maximize tax attributes
- Provide accurate and complete answers/information to internal and external clients in a timely manner
- Identify and communicate tax risks deriving from projects/transactions and mitigate them through creative solutions
- Review and file complete returns and documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness as well as staying up to date with tax legislation
- Manage tax audits to minimize adjustments, penalties and interest
- Ensure tax elements are appropriately disclosed and measured
- Ensure tax issues and risks that could impact F/S are adequately managed and reported to top management (Reporting)
- Being a key tax focal, providing training, and acting as an ambassador for the tax team.
How to thrive in this role?
• Has a Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance (BA or BS in Accounting, MPA) or law (J.D.) designation or a closely related field;
• Typically 10+ years of experience with U.S. tax experience (income tax, sales/use tax, property tax, and excise tax)
• Thorough knowledge of U.S. tax law
• Business Acumen and interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, other business areas, and governmental agencies
• Good Verbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate complex tax positions and issues to both lay personnel and tax authorities
• Tax research and analytical skills necessary to identify issues, facts, laws, and tax consequences of various business transactions
• Planning and organizational skills necessary to coordinate workload around multiple assignments
• Computer skills necessary to operate word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, e-mail, tax, and internet-based applications
• Has strong initiative and project management skills
ADDITIONAL DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Has prior experience or interest for international tax
• Having broad knowledge of various tax aspects of business transactions (e.g. indirect, direct and some international tax concepts)
• Has strong tax research and writing skills, as well as contract drafting experience
