Specific Accountabilities:

Position Title: Production Planner

Reports to: Manager, Customer Service

Nature & Scope of Position

This position will require the incumbent to liaise with the various departments within the company in effort to schedule and coordinate engine/module and Piece Part production to meet customer requirements. 

Position Accountabilities

• Update and maintain a Production Plan that schedules engines/modules through the various Company departments in effort to meet or exceed customer requirements while minimizing overtime.
• Responsible for taking the financial well-being of the Company into consideration for all business decisions.
• Responsible for the regular occurrence of the On Time Delivery (OTD) meeting
• Communicating information from meetings to affected departments or individuals.
• Update and maintain master module routers as required to meet production requirements.
• Manage dates on order/tasks and work orders to ensure that work is completed to meet the schedule.
• Establish and maintain efficient lines of communication between related Company departments to achieve primary goal of meeting the Customer commitment.
• Make effective and practical decisions based on analysis, experience and considering diverse opinions from staff.
• Respectfully challenge the decisions of others regardless of level or status; strive to offer constructive alternatives.
• Update departmental metrics and customer information
• Assist in the maintenance of the financial forecast.
• Model behaviors consistent with good quality, health and safety, and environmental management practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent. 
• Post-secondary education in a technical field is an asset. 
• Well organized with attention to detail.
• Experience with the use of Microsoft Office and integrated systems.
• Ability to think outside the box when solving problem

Working Environment:

• An individual in this capacity must be aware of that the position will involve:
  • Working in an office setting, spending extended periods of time sitting at a computer.
  • Must be willing to walk to various areas throughout the facility as well as carting parts to various departments of which safety shoes would be required.
  • Overtime may be required from time to time to ensure responsibilities are fulfilled.
