National Development Specialist (Emiratisation)

As a National Development Specialist, you will be required to design, implement and facilitate development programs/plans for UAE National employees across different businesses within Emirates Group together with National Development Manager (NDM).


In this role, you will:



  • Work directly with the line departments in formulating, planning and executing development plans for UAE Nationals across the Group for diverse programs. This entails negotiating and influencing line managers to support the recommended development plan, to channel and assist line managers in linking National development with a career progression and ensure a high morale is achieved through on-job training, coaching, counselling and mentoring.

  • Conduct and facilitate National Induction on a regular basis to ensure new employees are appropriately inducted to the Emirates Group environment. This includes giving sound knowledge of the group policies, procedures and challenges faced in the aviation business, whilst consistently ensure revising the programme structure and content (as and when required) by adopting best practices techniques.

  • Ensure effective and professional relationship is maintained with line managers and nationals, whilst providing guidance and support to defuse conflict, by reinforcing relationships with other HR colleagues and ancillary support departments. You will also identify and establish relationships with training providers & academic centres to supplement training needs and strategies that are not met in house.

  • Conduct Training Needs Analysis (TNA) for all UAE National at specified milestones in their training programme/plan, to assess their development needs and to take appropriate action accordingly. This involves gauging their competency levels and technical knowledge through diverse approaches using development centres, psychometric testing, workshops, to source suitable training programmes internally, externally, or on the job monitoring their effectiveness.

  • Conduct quality review meetings with nationals and their respective line managers to monitor their progress and assess the impact of the training and development against their performance. This will involve supporting and coaching both parties to achieve the desired development outcomes.

  • Guide line managers and employees throughout the training and development period on various issues related to UAE nationals, by providing effective advice or counselling which may include participating in disciplinary and grievance hearing (applying internal policies) to ensure effective performance of the employee, whilst providing recommendations from the UAE national support prospective in alignment with case precedents.

  • Manage and execute projects to meet specified development improvements, process automation, and quality control and run awareness campaigns.

  • Maintain comprehensive data base of nationals’ development information throughout their training period, nomination process of internal and external training courses and generate reports related to national development on a regular basis.

Job Requirements:

To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:



  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

  • 5+ years of experience in Human Resources or Training.


You will have an edge if you have:



  • CIPD certification.

  • Experience in a supervisory, training, or coaching role within a multicultural organisation.

  • Strong understanding of coaching methods and structured graduate development programs.
