Job SummaryThe Quality Assurance Specialist provides leadership, subject matter expertise, and support to ensure program integrity. The role leads efforts to strengthen the quality of training programs and provides clear and concise guidance to support the execution of Air Traffic Services (ATS) Learning activities. The Quality Assurance Specialist ensures integrity by championing ATS Learning policy, philosophy and quality assurance by supporting Systems Approach to Training activities and participating in training reviews.

Language Requirements: Bilingual (English and French) is preferred.
Key Accountabilities:
Design and develop tools and training to support the implementation and continuous improvement of ATS Learning policy, philosophy, standards and integrated quality assurance program.
Participate in Training Reviews and identify issues related to maintaining the integrity for our training programs and student progression.
Analyze training findings from safety and audit reports, prepare detailed corrective action plans with clear mitigating recommendations.
Participate in validation activities to identify areas to improve the ATS Learning system.
Facilitate departmental safety and risk management activities and processes.
Lead or support activities related to the implementation of ATS Learning and corporate projects and initiatives.
Support ATS Learning Curriculum by participating in the design, development and maintenance of training products and programs, including theory, simulation, systems and the qualification training programs.
Job Requirements
Education:
Experience:
Experience in an instructional designer, analyst, auditor, or similar type of position.
Experience in leading and facilitating groups with diverse backgrounds.
Experience in the design and development of programs and training tools.
Experience in analyzing problems and identifying cause for recommending improvements.
Knowledge:
Knowledge of corporate policies, goals, culture, values and code of ethics.
Knowledge of Safety Management Systems (SMS) and Quality Management Systems (QMS).
Knowledge of learning philosophy, policies and standards and regulatory training requirements.
Knowledge of adult learning styles, instructional techniques and Systems Approach to Training (SAT) or ADDIE.
Knowledge of ATS Learning programs and products, including theory, simulation and systems.
Knowledge of best practices related to validation, quality control and auditing programs and services.
Abilities:
Ability to coach individuals and teach formal training programs.
Ability to facilitate in group settings and lead teams.
Ability to identify and analyze problems and recommend best practices to mitigate or resolve training issues.
Ability to plan and organize work independently while prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
Ability to research and analyze data, recommend improvements and implement solutions efficiently.

Working Conditions:
This position is based at the Ottawa Head Office but is eligible for a Flexible Work Arrangement. Onsite work can be done from any of the Area Control Centres in Winnipeg, Toronto, Edmonton, Vancouver, Moncton, Gander, Montreal or at the Ottawa Head Office.
Occasional travel required.
