The Specialist, Manufactured Revenue will help guide the development and deployment of new Revenue Management concepts and systems, while also reviewing and supporting existing core RM processes & algorithms. The Specialist will consult on RM workflows and best practices and contribute to an innovation community at Air Canada, while recommending strategic commercial decisions.Responsibilities:
Guide the design of Offer Optimization, Branded Fare, and Ancillary systems & practices based solidly on RM theory, including assessments of vendor proposals, participating in build vs buy decisions, and leading internal development activitiesContribute to the deployment of next-generation RM concepts, like dependent-demand forecasting models and continuous pricing, in a manner that balances scientific & commercial realities through analysis and guidanceGuide the application of RM theory by supporting other teams in aligning recommended existing and new practices & workflows with theory and promoting post-audit and assessment strategiesContribute to the development of an innovation community at Air Canada and represent Air Canada at industry and academic events and organizationsContribute to the maintenance and development of the RM roadmapCollaborate with internal & external stakeholders to develop an expertise in Air Canada’s RM processes & datasetsParticipate in the assessment and recommendation of different commercial strategies to support key corporate objectives
QualificationsMaster’s degree in Revenue Management, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Engineering, or equivalent.3-5 years of proven experience in a practical application of revenue management theory and revenue generation with an entrepreneurial spiritKnowledge of Origin-Destination revenue management theory, including forecasting & optimization of traditional and dependent-demand modelsScientific expertise in offer optimization, or other next-generation RM concepts, including ancillary products, bundles, and branded faresStrong leadership skills with an ability to communicate to diverse audiences with multiple levels of expertiseExcellent conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills with an ability to synthesize complex situations, formulate creative & out-of-the-box solution sets, and present them in simple, understandable termsAbility to translate business needs into technical requirementsStrong interpersonal skills: a team player, a diplomat, a presenter, and a persuaderSelf-starter with an ability to work under pressure, changing priorities, and tight deadlines with limited supervision.Strong commercial and results orientationAbility to manipulate and analyze large datasets and transform them into clear business insights. (Python, R, SQL, or other programming languages)Demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment.
