The Avionics Technician performs complex, routine and non-routine repairs, checks and installations of all Avionics systems on aircraft while working under limited supervision.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Within budgeted or estimated time, repair, modify, install, and perform routine and non-routine maintenance of all Avionics systems with a high degree of proficiency and with minimal assistance.
Accurately interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, wiring diagrams, system schematics, drawings, engineering orders and other documents from both the customer and ATS to determine feasibility and method of repair, replacement or modification.
Using detailed knowledge of the aircraft systems and their operation, apply deductive concepts to troubleshoot and isolate defective components.
Assist Leads with planning, productions, and quality assurance of assigned projects. Assist with the training and development of Technicians.
Properly utilize Avionics test equipment to perform systems test and keep abreast of new and advanced test equipment and the use of such equipment. Properly utilized and maintain Avionics hand tools to perform repairs and installations.
Operate ground support equipment e.g. power carts, Hi-Reach, etc. as required.
Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements Previous Commercial MRO experience - Highly skilled
Minimum of three (3) years of heavy aircraft maintenance experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience on 737/767/Airbus/Next Gen
F.A.A. Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License - required.
Miscellaneous While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to work within confined or small spaces, sit; use their hands and arms; and talk or hear; and focus on objects close up. The employee will be required to ascend ladders varying in size; stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally, with help, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must have full color vision and visual acuity with or without corrective lenses.
