Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Chemical Engineering Intern to join our team for a hands-on experience in our metal surface treatments division. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical knowledge and skills in chemical engineering within the context of aerospace and defense technologies
Essential Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing and optimizing metal surface treatment processes.
- Collaborate with experienced engineers to improve existing methods.
- Investigate new techniques for enhancing surface properties.
- Chemical Etching: Understanding the chemical reactions involved.
- Electroplating: Learning about electrodeposition processes.
- Anodizing: Exploring oxidation-based surface treatments.
- Passivation: Studying methods to prevent corrosion.
- Coating Applications: Familiarizing yourself with coatings like paints, enamels, and protective films.
- Conduct Periodic Testing and wet chemistry titrations and dilutions
- Analyze samples using laboratory equipment such as pH meters, XRF metal analyzer, spectrometer, hydrometer, microscopes, thermometers, and centrifuge.
- Validate treatment processes by analyzing results and ensuring consistency.
- Collaborate with quality assurance and control teams to maintain high standards.
- Prepare technical reports on tests, findings, and process improvements.
- Document process parameters, safety protocols, and best practices.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including materials scientists, production engineers, and technicians.
- Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance your knowledge.
Position Requirements:
- Pursuing a degree in chemical engineering or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with basic chemical principles and laboratory techniques.
- Proficiency in using tools like CAD software, spreadsheets, and data analysis tools.
