Job description --> Engineer – Architecture & Concept Analysis

Team: Structures- Architecture & Concept Analysis

The Architecture & Concept Analysis team is a part of the  Analysis group under the Structures department and plays a key role in demonstrating emerging technology readiness levels and developing innovative solutions for design and development of current and future aircraft programmes.

Job scope (core activities): 

• Propose new architectures, concepts and explore disruptive and incremental innovation

• Perform preliminary design and sizing studies using legacy methods, hand calculations and FEM

• Validate preliminary design and suggest modifications in case of low reserve factors

• Collaborate with other groups within Airframe such as materials, system installation for end to end solutions

• Stress analysis of metallic and composite aircraft structures using hand calculations, FEM and ISAMI

• Creation of FEMs using geometric data from part & assembly drawings

• Fastener load extraction and joint analysis

• GFEM and DFEM analysis

Required Domain Expertise: 

• Strong knowledge in Strength of material, FEM and vibrations

• Experience in design and sizing of aircraft primary structure components and parts

• Competency in structural design principles, aircraft loads and aircraft structures

• Stress analysis of metallic and composite structures

• Hands on experience in trade studies, sizing and developing innovative architectures

• Finite element method / finite element analysis (FEM / FEA)

• Interpreting engineering drawings

• Exposure to certification requirements

Tools: Patran/Nastran, Hypermesh, Abaqus, ISAMI

Qualification:

• Graduate/Post graduate (Aerospace / Mechanical / Civil / Manufacturing/ Production) 

Experience: 

• 4-10 years

• Ability to work independently & in a transnational team.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills

• Flexibility & adaptability
