This is a 16-month internship opportunity
As an engineering intern in the De Havilland Aircraft of Canada In-Service Engineering – Structures team, the student intern will conduct the detailed engineering research, analysis development and preparation of engineering service deliverables and approvals as required to support the following aircraft operator needs repair drawings, ferry flight recommendations and other engineering concessions, in-service minor engineering modifications and investigation reports. The intern will be required to use their engineering knowledge and problem-solving skills in order to prepare these engineering deliverables based on damage reports and technical queries provided by aircraft operators. The intern will also be required to communicate with internal De Havilland departments, external equipment suppliers and airline customers.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide designs for the repair of damaged aircraft structures.
- Prepare stress analysis to substantiate the repair design.
- Design and substantiate in-service modifications.
- Provide investigative reports of on-going fleet issues.
Education and Professional Qualifications
- Current aerospace engineering student (bachelor’s or masters).
- Preference to students who have completed at least 2 years of undergraduate education.
Skills
- MS Office Experience required.
- CATIA V5 experiences an asset.
- Programming experience an asset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
