* Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry (e.g., Bachelor’s degree) and typically 5 or more years of related work experience (e.g., PhD, Master’s degree + 3 years of related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
* A minimum of 3 or more years of experience working in Nondestructive Evaluation.

* ASNT Level 2 or 3 certifications in UT, RT, MT, PT, or ET.

* Functional knowledge of ultrasonic inspection techniques, including pulse echo, through transmission, pitch-catch, and phased array.
* Functional knowledge of magnetic particle, penetrant, and eddy current inspection methods.
* Functional knowledge of radiographic inspection systems and techniques.
* Knowledge of reference standard development and fabrication.
* Experience with robotics, 3D modeling, 3D printing, computed tomography, and ultrasonic phased array.
* Experience working in an engineering or scientific laboratory environment.
* Experience reading engineering drawings and using Microsoft Office products. Job Duties & Functions
* Review and interpret ultrasonic and other nondestructive inspection results.
* Design reference standards and develop NDT inspection plans and sequencing.
* Develop, qualify, and approve NDT inspection techniques and equipment.
* Maintain proficiency in NDE methods, including ultrasonics, radiography, eddy current, magnetic particle, and liquid penetrant.
* Define requirements for tools, equipment, materials, parts, and processes used in design, manufacturing, and maintenance.
* Develop engineering specifications and documentation for inspection processes and systems.
* Interface with cross-functional engineering teams to align inspection requirements and capabilities.
* Support certification and qualification of NDE equipment and inspection processes.
* Assist in the development, qualification, and deployment of new inspection processes, including standardization, documentation, and training.
* Support root cause analysis and corrective actions related to NDT issues to improve process efficiency.
* Evaluate and implement new NDT technologies for production and program support.
* Compile reports documenting evaluations, results, interpretations, and procedures.
* Develop computer and production systems to meet user requirements and support operations.
* Utilize project management tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule objectives.
* Ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
* Promote standardization and continuous improvement across operations.
* Incorporate environmental health and safety, LEAN, and quality principles into all work activities.
* Support production operations and maintain regular and predictable attendance. Physical Requirements & Environment
