Contract Position
$55.70-$60.70/Hour
Join a team dedicated to designing and producing armored combat and support vehicles. As a prime mover in ground force capabilities, this firm provides innovative solutions that ensure the safety and effectiveness of military personnel worldwide, focusing on durability, mobility, and performance.
Responsibilities:
Support mechanical design, release, and integration of components and subsystems for military ground vehicle projects, including seating, battery enclosures, steering & braking controls, shock/vibration isolation, stowage, lighting, and electro-mechanical actuators.
Develop and integrate components based on requirements including human factors, safety, environmental, ballistic, and mine blast considerations.
Apply mechanical engineering principles to materials selection, mechanics, welding, and fabrication for brackets and mounting structures.
Direct and coordinate CAD model and drawing development.
Ensure structural analysis is completed for design validation and performance.
Provide technical support for prototype, production, sustainment activities, troubleshooting, and corrective actions.
Update legacy designs to resolve obsolescence issues and improve manufacturability.
Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure design compliance with program requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related electro-mechanical engineering field from an ABET-accredited institution.
Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
5+ years of relevant engineering experience supporting mechanical and electromechanical systems.
Experience with electromechanical components such as actuators, sensors, and motors.
Proficiency in creating fabrication drawings and applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Solid modeling experience using NX or Creo.
Familiarity with Teamcenter and Vis Mockup.
Prior experience with root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.
Background in structured problem-solving techniques.
Prior experience supporting prototype or production build activities.
Ability to work occasional evening and/or weekend overtime as needed.
Ability to travel up to 10 to other facilities and military installations.
Must be able to pass an Anthropometric Size Requirement (ASR) Test for confined spaces.
Preferred: Previous experience working on ground combat vehicles and continuous improvement initiatives.
