BAE Systems is looking for Network Engineers to support an IC program delivering network support to the customer’s various wide area networks (WANs) and local area networks (LANs). This position will provide network engineering support to an enterprise level infrastructure across multiple classifications.The Network Engineer responsibilities will include:
Provide day-to-day Operations and Maintenance (O&M) support for incident management events and outages.
Perform regular system maintenance, including software upgrades, patching, security auditing, and configuration backups for network devices.
Install, configure, and maintain Cisco Network solutions and associated network infrastructure components, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex network and service deployment issues, leveraging NSO logs and monitoring tools to perform root cause analysis.
Integrate with various network devices, external systems, and APIs using protocols like NETCONF, RESTCONF, and JSON-RPC.
Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python, Java, or other relevant languages to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.
Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation related to installations, configurations, and network processes.
Troubleshooting network issues related to connectivity, latency, asymmetric routing.
Implementation of routing and troubleshooting issues related to the following protocols: OSPF, BGP, MPLS, VRF’s, VPN’s
Support problem management to conduct root cause analysis of recurring issues.
Work with corresponding technical support teams as required to resolve network traffic concerns.
Utilize monitoring tools and log collectors to provide in-dept analysis of traffic anomalies and issues.
Candidate may be on call after hours on a rotational basis.
