Position Overview:
As part of the delivery of the UK MOD P8 Aircraft Support Provision (ASP) contract and associated tasks the P8 CAMSS LCAM Engineer will provide MAA MRP compliant support to the Lossiemouth Mil CAM. The P8 CAMSS Lead Continuing Airworthiness Management Engineer will provide direct assistance to the P8 Deputy Continuing Airworthiness Manager (DCAM) and P8 Military Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (Mil CAMO) with the undertaking of Continuing Airworthiness Management activities in general and specific to those air systems allotted to BDUK at RAF Lossiemouth undertaking maintenance, all aircraft flying training, modification and flight test activity.
Some UK travel is expected.
Responsibilities:
- Being the main point of contact for the P8 DCAM on a day to day basis, attending all relevant P8 Mil CAMO, Customer and Program meetings for the P8 ASP Contract and associated Tasks.
- Providing feedback to the BDUK Continuing Airworthiness Manager and P8 ASP Contract Program Management for Customer satisfaction and regulatory compliance.
- Technical leadership for the P8 CAMSS team based at RAF Lossiemouth acting as representative of the BDUK Continuing Airworthiness Manager.
- Acting as the BDUK focal for requests for information by the P8 Mil CAM.
- Coordinating inputs to and outputs from other BDUK functions and capabilities that support the execution of the P8 Mil CAM’s responsibilities.
- Monitoring any planned or short term changes in Customer requirements and the use of the P8 fleet to ensure that the CAMSS sustains delivery of continuing airworthiness.
- Leading the development and maintenance of the Interface Control Documents with the P8 Mil CAM, Boeing Accountable Manager (Military Flying), Boeing MRP Part 21J Design Organisation and Boeing-contracted MRP Part 145 AMOs.
- Leading the development and improvement of BDUK P8 CAMSS continuing airworthiness processes.
- Conducting continual analysis of P8 CAMSS tasks, resources and training requirements while ensuring the assignment of responsibilities to SQEP individuals and assuring their competence.
- Guide the development of Continuing Airworthiness Management metrics and appropriate dashboard to assist day to day management, performance monitoring and drive continuous improvement opportunities for the CAMSS as they emerge.
- Support the Customer’s MAA Audits, ensuring the P8 CAMSS team remain MRP compliant and have a positive contribution to the P8 Mil CAM’s approvals.
- Ensure the correct and proper use of the BDUK Safety Management System.
- Ensure the correct and proper use of the BDUK Quality Management System, supporting internal and external Quality Assurance Audits and associated Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) and corrective action plans.
Essential Qualifications (Experience/Education/Skills):
- Experience in the application of MAA Regulations and UK MoD airworthiness policies, processes and culture in an aircraft operations environment.
- A knowledge of MRP Part M requirements & procedures.
- A knowledge of MRP Part 145 requirements & procedures.
- An understanding of Aviation Duty Holder and Accountable Manager (Military Flying) requirements and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications (Experience/Education/Skills):
- Able to demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively on the planning of work, and develop/use meaningful metrics to evaluate compliance status and provide performance visibility.
- Able to effectively execute opportunities to improve strategies, processes and project plans. Assist the removal of obstacles by identifying where and what help is needed and coordinating with the appropriate leaders and team members.
- Strong communication skills, technical competency, and skills with logistics information and maintenance management tools.
- Previous industry or military service continuing airworthiness engineering experience.
- Able to demonstrate experience in the application of air safety standards & safe operating practices.
- A knowledge of quality management systems including AS9100.
- Experience in the application of UK MAA MRP, European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), European Defence Agency (EDA) or Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) and other international standards for continuing airworthiness.
- Specific P8-A air system experience and product knowledge
