Job Description:

This engineer will be part of the Space Electronics Instrumentation, Component, and Test Engineering group.  The engineer will contribute to the design, development, and test of flight and ground test instrumentation for application on Aerojet Rocketdyne propulsion systems.  Responsibilities include requirement analysis, design and development support, hardware fabrication support, and data processing of component/system tests.

50 - Performing engineering support tasks for instrumentation hardware including temperature, pressure, speed, vibration, and position sensors.  Manage requirements.  Perform design trade studies.  Evaluate sensor suppliers.  Coordinate activities related to hardware fabrication and test with internal organizations including manufacturing, quality, and supply chain.

20 - Work closely with instrumentation sensor suppliers to design, manufacture, and test flight and ground test instrumentation hardware.

20 - Perform instrumentation data analysis in support of rocket engine hot-fire testing and/or component testing.

10 - Participate in engineering process training and other professional development activities.

Pursuing a Bachelors degree in Physics, Engineering, an appropriate discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency with MS Office software (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) expected.

May be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level.  Requires U.S. Citizenship. Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of instrumentation/electrical/mechanical engineering support of rocket propulsion systems.
  • 6 months to 1 year of related experience preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with formal failure analysis techniques
  • Experience with Visio, MS Project, and data analysis tools such as ADAMnet and Winplot.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $25.00 -

$39.00 per hour. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based

on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a
