The F/A-18 Super Hornet Service Life Modification (SLM) program delivers critical new capabilities and additional service life to the US Navy. It includes extending the Super Hornets service life to 10,000 hours, upgrading to the Block III cockpit, and an upgrade to core mission systems. These upgrades give the warfighter critical capabilities and keep the F/A-18 in active service for decades to come.
This assignment will support the SLM Program as the Production Engineering Manager (Level K) and manage and lead a team of employees performing engineering and technical activities in the areas of Manufacturing Engineering and Product Review Engineering in San Antonio, TX.
Position Responsibilities:
Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Production Engineering
Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives
Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
Manages, develops and motivates employees and first-level managers
This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field
Proven experience in managing engineering teams and projects
Strong understanding of production and assembly processes
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience in the aerospace industry, particularly with military or defense programs
Experience in production operations, leadership or support
Knowledge of Boeings organizational processes, program plans, and policies
Demonstrated ability in budget management and business process improvement
Familiarity with critical path methodology and project leadership principles
Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights
Experience with structural repair principles and systems thinking
Active Secret US Security Clearance

Summary pay range: $129,200 - $174,800
