Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Engineer to join our team in supporting a critical weapon system program for the military. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the planning, execution, and management of engineering projects, ensuring that all technical requirements are met and that projects are completed on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and testing, to develop and implement project plans.Coordinate and oversee the technical aspects of missile development projects, ensuring compliance with military standards and specifications.Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address potential project challenges.Monitor project progress, track milestones, and prepare regular status reports for senior management and stakeholders.Ensure that all engineering activities are performed in accordance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.Provide technical guidance and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, and other project-related activities.Manage project budgets, resources, and schedules to ensure successful project delivery.Identify and implement process improvements to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.Create and present technical project details at customer status reviews and technical interchange meetingsOversee and support technical estimates for proposals
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or related field).Minimum of 5 years of experience in project engineering, preferably in the defense or aerospace industry.Minimum of 5 years of experience in a specific engineering disciplineStrong understanding of missile systems and military standards.Proven track record of successfully managing complex engineering projects.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams spanning multiple sites, in different time zones within the United States.Proficiency in project management software and tools.Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance (with ability to obtain SAP).Ability to travel ~25.
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree in engineering or related field.Professional Engineer (PE) license.Experience with systems engineering and integration.Familiarity with DoD acquisition processes and requirements.
