Roles and responsibilities of the Test Engineer include, but are not limited to:
- Designs, develops, and implements testing methods and equipment
- Troubleshoots and supports Power and Control Systems and Test Sets
- Compiles data and defines changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements
- Supports technicians through troubleshooting and training
- Analyzes test data and identifies early trends
- Supports program meetings in developing root cause and corrective actions
- Collaborates with design engineering to develop and implement hardware improvements and solutions
The successful candidate will have analytical skills to review requirements, test plans, and test scenarios; and the ability to effectively communicate and work with manufacturing, test engineering, and design engineering personnel. He/she should also be self-directed, organized, team oriented and have previous experience with MS Office tools.
Basic Qualifications for a Senior Principal Test Engineer:
- Bachelors of Science degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or other STEM field plus 9 years of relevant experience (7 years with a MS degree)
- Experience with a broad range of measuring and monitoring equipment (oscilloscopes, function and waveform generators, power supplies and meters, current sensors and probes, etc.)
- Working experience with basic concepts of circuit design and troubleshooting
- U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with automated testing
- Experience with Labview
- Experience with databases
- Prior Test Engineering specific experience in a military environment
- Prior Test Technician experience working in a lab environment
Salary Range: $131,100.00 - $196,700.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current spanet conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
