Raytheon ELCAN is offering a 4 month summer employment experience for an Engineering student. Reporting to the Manager of Compliance Management, you will gain firsthand experience in the design process, including requirements management, verification & validation, and supporting the development of opto-mechanical systems for aerospace and defense applications. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies and contribute to internal research and development.

Education / Technical requirements

• Enrolment in a University program, completing 2 years in a physics or engineering field
• Experience in connecting requirements to solutions
• Ability to develop basic design of experiments
• Knowledge of optics and mechanics an asset
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting GD&T mechanical engineering drawings an asset
• Proficient use of MS Office -Word/Excel and Adobe

• Must be a highly motivated self-starter and can work independently towards task completion
• Efficiently prioritize, organize and execute on given tasks
• Strong written and communication skills; interfacing with product development teams
• Ability to be adaptive and take initiative
• Work with a dynamic group of people across design, test and quality
• Good attention to detail with the ability to work in a highly organized manner

This position involves technologies regulated by the Canadian government’s Controlled Goods Program and the Contract Security Program. In order to obtain the required security clearance, candidates must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada, have resided in Canada for a minimum of five consecutive years, and meet all other program requirements.  Job offers will be conditional upon candidates undergoing a successful security screening per the Controlled Goods Regulations and the Contract Security Program
