Aviation Upholstery Technician – Seat Cover Installation

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and experienced Aviation Upholstery Technician to join our interiors team. This position focuses on the installation and fitting of aviation seat covers, working closely with our sewing department to ensure all components meet high-quality standards for safety, appearance, and FAA compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, stretch, and fit seat covers on various types of aircraft seating, including economy, business, and first-class configurations
- Collaborate with the sewing department to ensure seat covers are properly fabricated and ready for installation
- Ensure accurate fit and finish, following templates, patterns, and OEM specifications
- Identify and report any quality issues or discrepancies in materials or fit
- Assist with trimming, stapling, gluing, and other finishing techniques as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, complying with safety and quality standards
- Follow detailed work orders and documentation for traceability and compliance
- Contribute to team deadlines and assist in cross-functional upholstery tasks as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- 1+ year of hands-on experience in aviation upholstery, specifically in pulling and fitting seat covers
- Strong understanding of upholstery materials, stitching types, and foam configurations
- Ability to read and follow technical drawings, patterns, and work instructions
- Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated with strong attention to detail
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in FAA Part 145 repair station or OEM interiors production
- Familiarity with burn certification and flammability standards for interior components
- Sewing experience (not required, but a plus)
