Job Description:

As an Estimator, you will be accountable for establishing accurate part estimates for products, projects, or services, applying manufacturing principals, concepts, industry practices and standards to determine unit costs and set unit price in accordance with guidelines set by De Havilland Canada policies & procedures. You will support part number creation in the ERP system for fabricated and purchased parts as required and will assist other departments within De Havilland with estimating activities and identifying obsolete/out of production part issues in support of company initiatives and serviceability.A successful Estimator has a strong background in manufacturing and is an organized and motivated self-learner with an eye for detail. They have the social and communication skills needed to effectively collaborate with people in other disciplines. They care about excellence in their job and are passionate about team and company success. Key Duties and Responsibilities:Estimating by analyzing data to determine standard labor, material, service, and burden costs.Working with Procurements to have RFQs submitted to approved vendors to manufacture parts complete or carry out single or multiple manufacturing processes.Consult with manufacturing cells or other individuals as necessary to formulate estimates and set unit prices.Support internal customers by entering Quotes, receiving customer PO’s, and generating Sales Orders.Review and action of Estimating Quote log. Develop Quote Masters and documenting quotations in the ERP with detail of all substantiating data including material, labor, subcontract, and manufacturing costsCollaborate with Quality, Tooling, and Engineering groups to ensure that technical data and tooling exist to manufacture any parts not previously manufactured.Actively participate in continuous improvement activities and programs.Understand metrics that measure key performance parameters.Strive to achieve world class levels of customer service and supply chain in every interaction our customers and suppliers.Requirements:5 years of related experience in an estimating role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.B.A./B.S. in a related field (data science, engineering, data analysis, statistics, etc.)Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially with Microsoft ExcelExperience in Aerospace industry preferredExperience with ERP systems preferred
