The Opportunity
Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Services team are seeking an experienced Aviation Maintenance (145 / MRO) Professionals in support of technical roles for the Air Combat and Electronic Attack (ACEA) Modifications team, assisting in advancing Australias F/A-18F and E/A-18G fleet into the future to meet the ever- evolving scope of Defence operations.
Successful applicants will have the opportunity to progress their Certificate IV through to completion with practical experience during employment, to achieve Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) and Military Aircraft Maintenance Licence (MAML).
The Program is located at the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) base Amberley, QLD.
Your Day
As a supporting Aircraft Trade Assistant within the Super Hornet and Growler Modifications team, you will be required to integrate and assist licenced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer personnel to carry out all day to day modification activities including;
- Aircraft MRO tasks including;
- Inductions and Preparation for Maintenance, Repair or Modification for Next Generation Upgrades
- Inspections, Special Servicings and Rectifications
- Reconstitution and Post Maintenance and Modification Testing
- Delivery of Mission Ready Asset to the Commonwealth of Australia Customer
- Administer the use of all ground support equipment I.e. Aircraft hydraulic rigs, Cabin pressure testing rigs, Towing tractors etc.
- Administer the use of technical instructions/data and Aircraft Maintenance Documentation
- Report to the assigned Maintenance Operations Manager
- Work closely within a team environment
Aerospace Workers (AW) employed in this role will be at the AW2 or AW3 level, depending on the time taken to meet task authorisation requirements, level of experience in the Aviation Industry and any Aviation qualifications/training held.
Essential Experience / Qualifications
- Applicants must be an Australian Citizen
- A high level of verbal and written communication skills
- Possess an Australian Negative Vet 1 Defence security clearance or the ability to obtain
Desirable Experience / Qualifications
- Previous experience in an Aerospace environment
- Certificate IV in Aeroskills, including theory only completed
- Valid open drivers licence
