ABOUT US Since 1978 Air Inuit has been providing scheduled, charter, cargo, and emergency air transportation services in Nunavik and beyond, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Collectively owned by the Inuit of Nunavik, through the Makivik Corporation, the airline operates a fleet of over 35 aircraft ranging from a Twin Otter 300 Series to a Boeing 737 200C, 300 and 800 and employs over 1000 employees in one of the most challenging flight environments. Air Inuits Management and its team of dedicated employees are committed to the companys essential mission of providing safe, timely and high-quality air service to the people living and doing business in the enchanting region of Northern Quebec.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and check loads;
- Participate in aircraft loading and unloading;
- Assist in the preparation of cargo shipping documents;
- Receive and distribute cargo;
- Operate forklift;
- Participate in aircraft de-icing;
- Report "Marshaling" aircraft;
- All other duties deemed necessary by the company to ensure the operations effectiveness.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- Bilingual (English/Inuktituk) or (French/Inuktituk) or (French/English);
- Reliable, punctual and able to work under pressure in a physically challenging environment;
- Hold a valid driving license;
- Experienced in driving forklifts;
- Available to travel occasionally for training;
- Available to work evenings, nights and weekends;
- If the position is filled locally, the work location will be La Grande;
- If the position is not filled locally, the candidate will be considered as having no specific base.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Rotational position – 2 weeks of work followed by 2 weeks off.
- If the position cannot be filled locally, airfare from Quebec or Montreal, room and board are included.
COMPENSATION
- Compensation and benefits are determined in accordance with corporate policy
- Northern Allowance $10,784 (if applicable)
