- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- A&P mechanic certification through the FAA.
- Sufficient oral, verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with rotor-wing aircraft, specifically AS350 and Bell 212 platforms.
- Valid passport (US citizenship not mandatory).
- Valid driver’s license.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position can possess basic supervisory level responsibility.
Physical Demands
- Willingness and ability to deploy to Antarctica for extended periods.
- You are required to PQ (Physically Qualify) for this position to the USAP medical and dental standards.
- Successful completion of drug screening and background check required by employer.
- Successful completion of Federal Background Check required by the NSF.
- Must be willing and able to lift and move items, parts, assemblies, and equipment up to the safety regulation maximum as required by the position.
- Must be willing and able to perform physical activities including heavy lifting, climbing in and out of equipment, crawling, and working outdoors in extreme cold as required by the position.
Pre-employment certification, verification, and medical testing are required for this position. Compensation is provided for up to three days of actual time spent completing these requirements. This offer is contingent upon meeting and completing all contract requirements.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Position is offered contract basis, with a work schedule of six 12-hour days per week, as assigned, under the NSF program. Compensation will be provided for all days spent on ice. The duration of the contract will align with the assigned shift schedule, typically consisting of approximately 90 days on ice.

Travel will be required to location McMurdo Station and Surrounding Field Locations, Antarctica
