Job Description

This role involves performing C checks and heavy maintenance on aircraft for military and government customers. The position requires a keen eye for detail and a strong commitment to safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Examine and inspect aircraft components, such as landing gear, hydraulic systems, and deicers, to identify cracks, breaks, leaks, or other issues.
• Conduct routine and special inspections as mandated by regulations.
• Inspect completed work to certify that maintenance meets standards and that aircraft are ready for operation.
• Read and interpret maintenance manuals, manufacturer publications, and directives to determine the feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
• Maintain repair logs, documenting all preventive and corrective aircraft maintenance.
• Modify aircraft structures, systems, or components, following drawings, schematics, charts, engineering orders, and technical publications.
• Replace or repair worn, defective, or damaged components using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment.
• Read and interpret pilots descriptions of problems to diagnose causes.
• Assemble and install electrical, plumbing, mechanical, hydraulic, and structural components and accessories using hand or power tools.
• Inventory and order supplies, parts, materials, and equipment.
• Check for corrosion, distortion, and cracks in the fuselage, wings, and tail.

Essential Skills

• A&P license
• 5 years of heavy maintenance or modification experience on aircraft
• Experience in MRO or depot level maintenance environment
• Experience with C checks, D checks, and heavy checks
• Ability to provide own tools
• Eligibility for a Secret clearance

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Military background preferred

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $50.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Bridgewater,VA.
