Position Title: Aircraft Maintenance Mechanic
Location: Great Falls, Montana – Avmax
Overview
Avmax is seeking skilled Aircraft Maintenance Mechanics to join our team in Montana. This role is responsible for performing high-quality maintenance, repairs, and modifications on a variety of aircraft in compliance with FAA regulations, company policies, and customer requirements. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, safety-focused, and able to thrive in a fast-paced MRO environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance including inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and modifications.
Conduct repairs on airframe structures, engines, hydraulics, landing gear, and electrical/avionics systems as required.
Ensure all work is completed in accordance with FAA regulations, manufacturer specifications, and company policies.
Document all maintenance tasks accurately in aircraft logbooks and company systems.
Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, safe work environment.
Collaborate with quality inspectors, engineers, and other maintenance personnel to resolve technical issues.
Participate in AOG (Aircraft on Ground) recovery operations as needed.
Adhere to strict safety and compliance standards.
Qualifications
FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate strongly preferred (or willingness to obtain).
Minimum of 2–5 years of hands-on aircraft maintenance experience (commercial, regional, or corporate aircraft).
Familiarity with maintenance manuals, wiring diagrams, and service bulletins.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
Willingness to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime if required.
Must provide your own basic set of tools.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Work in confined spaces and at heights.
Stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.

Competitive hourly pay (DOE) – typically $34–$40/hr for skilled mechanics, with overtime at 1.5x.
