Purpose:
Aircraft Maintenance Technicians (AMT), with their Inspection Authorization (IA), perform preventative maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting and repairs to aircraft and aircraft components in accordance with policies and procedures set forth in the Federal Aviation Regulations.

Maintenance Accountabilities:
• Contact factory technicians for best practices and troubleshooting purposes.
• Assist mechanics in researching parts for procurement and finding manual data.
• Perform internal training when needed with certificated and non-certificated technicians.
• Perform maintenance and inspections with signoff of annual inspections as needed.
• Ensure that all work is performed safely, correctly, and to the company standard.
• Ensure all work being performed is back checked for accuracy (Loose RII)
• Maintain all shop equipment and schedule repairs.
• Confirm that all aircraft have been cleaned before being returned to a customer. • Perform additional job tasks as requested.
AMT - IA /Accountabilities:
• Inspects, services, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs airframe systems, piston and turbine engines, propellers, and appliances.
• Inspects and signs off Annual inspections IAW FAR Part 43 Appendix D.
• Inspects and approves FAA form 337 for major repairs and alterations to aircraft.
• Services, maintains, and repairs aircraft fuselage, empennage, wings, and flight control surfaces.
• Performs preventative maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting and repairs to airframe electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, environmental, and mechanical systems.
• Performs rigging of landing gear, flight controls and engine controls.
• Performs removal and replacement of airframe and engine components such as fuel control units, cylinders, fuel pumps, fluid hoses, vacuum pumps, alternators, compressor bleed valves, landing gear motors and actuators.
• Performs removal and replacement of engines and propellers.
• Performs repairs to airframe structural and non-structural components using various sheet metal tools such as rivet guns, drills, shears, sheet metal brakes and grinding wheels.
• Reads and interprets manufacturer’s maintenance publications, schematics, technical data and other specifications pertaining to work being performed.
• Performs 100-hour phase and progressive inspections of airframes, engines, propellers and associated components.
• Performs compliance of airworthiness directives, manufacturer’s service bulletins and other technical requirements.
• Performs ground handling of aircraft including towing, jacking, leveling and taxiing.
• Keeps a clean work area as required to maintain a professional and safe work environment.
• Attends training classes as required to maintain a high level of proficiency.
License/Experience Requirements:
• Possession and maintenance of a valid California driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.
• Must possess an FAA issued A&P (Airframe and Powerplant) Certificate.
• Must possess an FAA issued IA for FAR Part 43 Annual inspection signoffs.
• Must pass DOT Pre-Employment and Random Drug/Alcohol Testing.
Minimum Qualifications:
• High School graduate or equivalent. Minimum one (1) year actual and recent aircraft maintenance / modification experience is required.
• Knowledge and use of special tools / equipment required to perform assigned maintenance tasks is mandatory.
• PC knowledgeable.
• Read and speak English fluently

The employee is occasionally required to sit, stand, climb, balance, squat, bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, reach, turn, twist, push and pull. The employee is occasionally exposed to the following environmental factors: Unprotected heights, moving machinery, changes in temperature and humidity, dust, fumes, smoke, gases and other irritating articles, automotive equipment, radiant and electrical energy, slippery or uneven walking surfaces, excessive vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to the following environmental factors: working outside, working inside, working alone or closely with others, chemical hazards, solvents, grease or oils and excessive noise. The employee is continuously required to walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
