Job Title: Aircraft Refuel Technician
Job Description
The Aircraft Refuel Technician safely fuels, defuels, and services aircraft in accordance with FAA regulations, internal procedures, and strict safety standards. This role ensures aircraft receive the correct fuel type and quantity on schedule, while maintaining full compliance with environmental, fire safety, and operational requirements across a diverse fleet.
Responsibilities
- Fuel and defuel aircraft using fuel trucks, hydrant systems, and related ground support equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Perform thorough pre- and post-fueling inspections of fueling equipment and aircraft fueling points to ensure proper operation and safety.
- Accurately document fuel quantities, fuel types, and all fueling transactions in the required logs and systems.
- Ground and bond aircraft during fueling operations to prevent static discharge and reduce fire risk.
- Conduct fuel quality checks, including contamination and water detection, and take appropriate action when issues arise.
- Monitor fueling operations continuously and act as a fire guard when required by procedures or operational conditions.
- Coordinate closely with flight crews, maintenance teams, and operations personnel to support on-time departures and safe operations.
- Follow all applicable FAA, TSA, OSHA, EPA, and company safety procedures at all times.
- Respond promptly and effectively to fuel spills, emergencies, and irregular operations in accordance with established protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper storage of fueling equipment, vehicles, and work areas.
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on fueling equipment to ensure reliability and readiness.
- Support ramp operations as needed, which may include towing, marshalling, or baggage handling duties if cross-trained.
Essential Skills
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to obtain an airport security badge (TSA/CHRC).
- Strong attention to safety, accuracy, and detail in all tasks.
- Ability to work effectively in all weather conditions.
- Capability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Experience or education in aviation, aircraft operations, or a related field.
- Experience with chemical handling and safe fuel handling practices.
- Familiarity with aircraft systems, including propellers and general aviation operations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Any aviation-related experience or education, such as prior work on aircraft or in an aviation maintenance or ground support environment.
- Comfort working around a variety of aircraft types, including turboprop, jet, and piston platforms.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with maintenance, flight, and operations teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate fueling activities and respond to operational changes.
- Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and commitment to following established procedures.

Work Environment
The role is based in an active airport and maintenance facility environment that supports a variety of aircraft, including MU-2 aircraft as well as Piaggio P180, Beech King Air B100, MU300/Beechjet, Cessna Conquest, Cessna Citation, Cessna Caravan, Twin Commander, and Learjet models. The organization has capabilities for major inspections, heavy structural repairs and modifications, and avionics upgrades, so you will work closely with maintenance and technical teams performing complex projects. You will spend most of your time outdoors on the ramp and in hangars, working in all weather conditions and around running aircraft, ground support equipment, and fuel trucks. The position involves physical activity, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and moving around the ramp and hangar areas. You will follow established safety procedures, wear appropriate personal protective equipment, and adhere to airport security and operational rules at all times.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tulsa, OK.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
