STS Technical Services is hiring Aircraft Support Mechanics in Atlanta, Georgia. In this key position, you’ll collaborate with maintenance professionals, engineers, and external suppliers to support the inspection, repair, and return-to-service process for a wide range of aircraft components. Responsibilities:
- Develop work scopes for expendable, recoverable, rotable, and repairable components
- Coordinate component repairs with OEMs and third-party vendors to ensure quality, cost-efficiency, and compliance
- Perform receiving inspections on repaired/overhauled components to verify airworthiness before returning to stock
- Communicate with suppliers on repair orders, quotes, purchase orders, and non-stock item issues
- Conduct visual inspections and sign off on documentation such as 8130 tags and serviceable component records
- Partner with internal teams—engineers, AMTs, planners, and CDMG—to maintain accurate configuration and compliance
- Support process improvement initiatives such as LEAN, Six Sigma, HPW, and 5S
- Assist with MRO insourcing strategy and help support repair supplier contract development and execution
- Use performance metrics and data to align with and support Tech Ops business goals
Required Qualifications:
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License required
- Must currently hold AMT or higher-level classification
- Demonstrated ability to follow safety-conscious practices across all operational areas
- Strong team collaboration skills, particularly in fast-paced repair environments
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with vendors, engineers, and technical teams
- Skilled in identifying cost-saving opportunities within the sourcing and repair process
- Proficient in supplier management, invoice validation, and customer satisfaction metrics
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Aeronautics, Business Administration, or related field
- Previous experience working within MRO or commercial aviation supply chain operations
- Familiarity with performance improvement frameworks (LEAN, Six Sigma, HPW, etc.)
