Position Purpose
Under minimal supervision, the Aircraft Technician II performs inspections, maintenance, repairs, and modifications of moderate to advanced complexity on mid- to large-size aircraft. This role supports aircraft completions activities while ensuring full compliance with FAA regulations, company procedures, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Perform complex aircraft inspections, maintenance, repairs, and modifications with minimal supervision.
- Communicate effectively to receive, understand, and execute work assignments.
- Coordinate with Maintenance Team Leads (MTL), Shift Team Managers (STM), and the Inspection Department to ensure compliance with FAA, Repair Station, and internal documentation requirements.
- Accurately complete CMP cards, work orders, sign-offs, and related documentation in a timely manner.
- Ensure all work meets required quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Properly identify, tag, store, and protect customer property and aircraft components.
- Safely operate ground support equipment, including external power carts, hydraulic mules, lift platforms, tow tugs, forklifts, and compressed gas cylinders.
- Assist with aircraft movement within hangar and ramp areas.
- Support shift turnovers and provide guidance and training to less experienced technicians.
- Protect customer property at all times (PTP compliance).
Additional Functions
- Properly collect, handle, and dispose of waste materials including fuel, oils, hydraulic fluids, de-icing fluids, and solvent materials.
- Apply 6S and Lean initiatives to maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
- Utilize continuous improvement and Lean principles in daily work activities.
- Properly use, maintain, and return company tools and equipment to designated storage areas.
- Comply with all safety rules, procedures, and PPE requirements; proactively identify and address unsafe conditions.
- Use material tracking systems to create parts demand, track squawks, document sign-offs, and charge labor to work orders.
- Support aircraft certification, final phase testing, and flight test activities as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
