Seeking an Experienced F-18 Support Equipment Technician to support the USN F/A-18 program located in NAS JRB New Orleans.
Position Responsibilities:
- Assist the Lead Technician as needed in daily accomplishments and tasking
- Maintain a limited number of systems by removing, replacing, repairing or upgrading components
- Troubleshoot problems to isolate faulty components
- Conduct routine functional tests by operating equipment and using appropriate test equipment
- Perform a variety of visual inspections as required by equipment maintenance documents
- Document maintenance and inspection actions as required
- Create and maintain maintenance, calibration and inventory tracking systems
- Work under general supervision and with minimal direction
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in NAS JRB New Orleans. Relocation not provided.
This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- 3+ years of experience maintaining aircraft Ground Support Equipment
- Experience formally or informally leading a team
- Ability to work and support a 24/7 on-call rotation environment
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally on short notice; as much as 50% of the time. No international travel known at this time.
- At the sole discretion of leadership, employee must be willing and able (on potentially short-notice) to deploy/travel to a variety of locations (domestic and international) and for a variety of deployment durations to meet customer needs and the statement of work. Unless compelling reasons exist, failure to deploy/travel will be considered as a resignation
Required Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience using Microsoft Office Applications (Word/Excel/Outlook)
- General automotive servicing experience with an electrical, hydraulic, and internal combustion engine background
- 3+ years of experience maintaining aircraft Ground Support Equipment
Preferred:
- Hydraulic Operation understanding
- AC/DC electrical
- Heavy machinery mechanical operation
Typical Education/ Experience:
- Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an
- equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+2 years' related work, Bachelor, etc.).
