Collins is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day priorities in solving clients VHF/UHF Radio, Telephone, Networking & PC hardware related issues based out of our Richmond, BC office.
What You Will Do
- Coordinates, prioritizes and resolves issues encountered by customers.
- Analyze system failures, identify and restore equipment malfunctions and failures.
- Performs a variety of duties, including but not limited to servicing, operating, maintaining, repairing, and removing equipment.
- Conducts technical analysis of product implementations, modifications, and enhancements to products in accordance with specific customer specifications.
- Manages technical products, services, logistics and provisioning, quantity surveying, and configurations to assigned customers.
- Troubleshoots technical problems and recommends actions to company or customer representatives.
- Assesses product needs in accordance with customer specifications.
- Install & maintain digital wireless communication equipment in the VHF, UHF, 800 MHz bands operating on trunking or conventional modes
- Install & Maintain dispatch console systems.
- Manages statement of work to meet customer and contract requirements.
- Contacts customer, collects feedback, and establishes and maintains good relationship with customers.
- Will communicate and interact, both verbally and written, with English speaking customers

- Will be working to various locations where valid Canadian citizenship, valid driver’s license and vehicle are required.
- Monday to Friday workdays with rotational on call
- Applicants will be subject to a government security screening
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
- Experience with RF testing equipment and troubleshooting skills
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience working in the RF field
- Be self-motivated and able to work effectively both in a team environment and under minimal supervision in the field.
- Completion of a practical course in the RF Radio & Electronics
- Completion of a practical course in CompTIA A+ or equivalent
