Provide technical expertise as the mechanical design and draftingsubject matter expert in the development of aircraft fuel systems. You will lead the mechanical design effortand be responsible for the product definition of fuel systems. You will prioritize safety and quality ineverything that you do and lead with courage and integrity. You will help shape product roadmaps andserve as a key contributor during product ideation activities. You will serve as the mechanical designsubject matter expert during proposal and RFI response efforts. You will help resolve supplier, production,and customer issues. You will supportvalue engineering and design revision activities. You will assign mechanical design anddrafting tasks to other engineers and serve as a mentor to yourless-experienced colleagues. You willprovide reports to internal and external stakeholders. You will spearhead the advancement of mechanicaldesign tools and processes, e.g., design automation, digital twins, digitalthreads, etc. You will relentlessly seekcost savings by advancing concepts such as modular design, digital productdefinition, part standardization, Agile, etc.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the mechanical design subject matter expert for the aircraft fuel systems product line
- Develop mechanical designs of aircraft wheels and brakes using Siemens NX and Ansys Workbench
- Serve as a mechanical design representative during internal and external design reviews, change board meetings, APQP activities, etc.
- Mentor less-experienced engineers
- Collaborate with suppliers, customers, operations, and various engineering functions to develop optimal and cost-effective design solutions
- Spearhead the advancement of the model-based enterprise, digital twins, and digital threads
- Improve existing mechanical design processes by eliminating non-value-added tasks and introducing automation through Python, parametric design, Artificial Intelligence, etc.
U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS Due to compliance with U.S. exportcontrol laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanentresident, or have asylum or refugee status in the U.S.
YOU MUST HAVE- Bachelors Degree in Engineering
- At least 10 years of experience in mechanical design of components and sub-systems for commercial and military aircraft applications
- At least 10 years of experience with Siemens NX or a similar CAD software
- At least 10 years of experience with Siemens Teamcenter or a similar PLM software
- At least 5 years of experience using GD&T
- Ability to support multiple projects concurrently
- Willingness to learn new concepts independently
- 5 years of experience with Python, C, or other programming languages
