Fleet Ballistic Missiles (FBM) is one of Lockheed Martin’s best-in-class Lines of Businesses that prioritizes partnership, integrity and reliability. Controls Engineering is an organization within FBM that facilitates control of the missile through servo actuators, gas hydraulic systems and small rocket motors.

We are a community of engineers looking for a dependable engineer to join our tight-knit group. The Mechanical Controls group is an organization within FBM that is responsible for the design and production support of the systems that control the missile both before and after boost. This position is for an IPT lead for the Post Boost Control System (PBCS) Integrated Valve Assembly (IVA) hardware. In this role, you will have numerous opportunities to represent the IPT with our Navy partner, LM leadership, and suppliers, with many opportunities for career development along the way. The PBCS hardware IPTs are responsible for the development, manufacture, and management of the PBCS hardware which is part of an attitude control and propulsive subsystem controlling the missile in a phase of the flight.

As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to lead our PBCS Integrated Valve Assembly IPT team with a team size of approximately 10-15 people and expected to grow in the next few years. The candidate will identify risks, issues and opportunities, obtain additional funding and implement approved risk handling plans and drive the success of desired reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR etc). The candidate will also support engineering and supply chain integration and program management status.

Basic Qualifications:
Any combination of experience in 2 or more of the skills below:
• Engineering project management
• Supplier management
• Engineering Experience
• CAM Experience
• Phases of project lifecycle (SRR, PDR, CDR)
~ Ability to Obtain DOD Secret Clearance
Desired Skills:
• Technical evaluations
• Experience with obtaining additional budget as required
• Missile and/or aerospace related education or experience
• Experience with FBM processes and products
• Experience with aerospace/Automotive manufacturing

• Experience with refractory metals
• Experience as a project lead
• Experience with Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) initial drafting and baselining
• Risk and opportunity experience with an understanding of continuous improvement concepts
• Experience in proposal development: Basis of Estimate (BOE), Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM), & Statement of Work (SOW) generation
• Experience in gas/fluid dynamics or energetics/propellants
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated leadership and initiative
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $85,500 - $150,765. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidates work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as spanet and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
