Are you an avionics expert who still loves turning wrenches?  Spirit Aeronautics is looking for a Senior Avionics Technician to join our team of aviation professionals.  This is a hands-on working role for a highly skilled technician who wants to stay actively involved in the craft while leading complex avionics projects on corporate aircraft.
About the Role:
As a Senior Avionics Technician, you won’t just oversee projects, you’ll be acting as the subject matter expert by executing high-level installations, performing diagnostics, and working alongside your team on the aircraft. You'll be expected to mentor junior technicians, coordinate cross-functionally, and ensure all work aligns with FAA regulations and Spirit Aeronautics’ quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the installation, troubleshooting, and inspection of advanced avionics systems on business jets such as Challenger, Learjet, Citation, Falcon, and Embraer models.

- Execute complex avionics modifications, including flight deck integrations, communication and navigation systems, radar upgrades, and wire harness fabrication.

- Accurately interpret system schematics, wiring diagrams, and aircraft blueprints to ensure precision in installations and repairs.

- Perform functional and operational testing of avionics systems to validate performance and reliability.

- Ensure all work complies with FAA regulations and the Spirit Aeronautics Repair Station Manual (RSM).

- Maintain and calibrate avionics testing equipment and document work using Corridor Aviation Service Software.

What We’re Looking For:
- Proven expertise in corporate aircraft avionics with extensive hands-on experience.

- A technician who thrives on the floor, not just behind a desk.

- Strong leadership and mentoring skills to guide junior team members.

- Ability to diagnose complex technical issues and propose effective solutions.

- Excellent time management and communication skills for cross-department coordination.

- A commitment to safety, precision, and high-quality workmanship.

At Spirit, you’re not just another employee, you’re part of a team that’s passionate about aviation and committed to delivering aircraft on time, every time. We offer competitive pay, a collaborative culture, and the opportunity to work on a variety of aircraft!
