Hybrid Work:
This is a hybrid work position in Calgary, Alberta and requires in-person collaboration at the WestJet Campus (22 Aerial Place NE) 3 days per week. This provides flexibility the remaining 40 of the work week. This hybrid work plan allows for critically important learning, collaboration and networking with our colleagues. Specific days in the office are agreed upon by the team.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Corporate Real Estate (CRE), the Facilities Manager is a key member of the CRE team, responsible for the operations, maintenance, and service management of WestJet’s Canadian-owned and leased corporate facilities, including critical infrastructure. This role ensures high standards of facility operations, tenant services, and maintenance quality.
The Facilities Manager will oversee facilities management service providers, trades, and technical services while collaborating with the Senior Manager, CRE, and other stakeholders to maintain high-quality, timely facility management services.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure 24/7/365 facility management and operations across an extensive portfolio, including corporate offices, airline/aviation, and industrial properties.
- Oversee vendor and contract management while assisting in the preparation of annual operating and capital budgets.
- Lead all facility maintenance and asset management programs, ensuring the upkeep and optimal conditions of all facilities and premises.
- Provide prompt and professional responses to tenant and occupant requests.
- Implement ongoing programs to assess tenant needs and ensure issues are resolved efficiently in alignment with contractual obligations and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Support business continuity and incident response initiatives for facilities.
- Be willing and available to provide on-call availability to coordinate and respond to after-hours facilities operations and maintenance needs.
- Maintain regular communication with the Senior Manager, Corporate Real Estate, including preparing and maintaining monthly reports on various matters.
- Ensure compliance with corporate, occupational health and safety (OHS), environmental, and regulatory policies and procedures.
- Promote and drive a strong safety culture across all facilities, including subcontractors, suppliers, and visitors.
- Build and maintain relationships with WestJet employees, service providers, support personnel, and external stakeholders.
- Conduct regular facility inspections and foster strong tenant relations.
- Develop and implement facility management and asset programs.
- Assist in facilities budget development, expenditure management, and financial forecasting, including operational and capital expenses.
- Foster collaboration with internal business teams (technical operations, airports, finance, legal, insurance, business continuity, OHS, environment, etc.), senior leadership, airport authorities, service providers, and landlords.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in business processes and service delivery within CRE.
- Support sourcing strategies aligned with WestJets long-term corporate real estate goals.
- Define and monitor supplier performance, sourcing, and procurement metrics to optimize asset utilization, cost efficiency, and service improvement.
- Willingness to work outside regular hours as required for operational needs.
Qualifications & Experience
- 6-8 years of direct experience as a Facilities Manager, including vendor and contract management, operations, and asset management, with exposure to critical infrastructure (e.g., data centers) maintenance.
- Experience managing a national, multi-site portfolio of owned and leased commercial, industrial, and office real estate.
- Familiarity with airline, airport operations, and aviation facilities is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of building, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and automation systems.
- Exceptional attention to detail, regulatory compliance, and best practices in facility and contract management.
- Strong financial and business acumen.
- Preferred experience in category management, sourcing, and procurement.
- Proven stakeholder engagement skills, with experience working with senior leadership, landlords, and service providers.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to break down complex issues, conceptualize solutions, and communicate them effectively.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment while balancing competing priorities.
- Experience in corporate real estate integration mergers and acquisitions.
- Collaborative and customer-service-oriented approach, with familiarity in change management methodologies.
- Self-motivated with a results-driven mindset, capable of meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
