About the Role:
Head Housekeeping Supervisor coordinates and supervises activities of the Housekeeping Supervisor(s), Linen runner(s) and assures the cleanliness of public areas. The role
assists the Housekeeping Manager to manage the day to day operations of all the Housekeeping and Laundry functions as well as overlooks the cost control measures. The role
is responsible to enhance and enforce the quality assurance for the Housekeeping department to meet all guest expectations and company standards.
Operational Accountabilities:
- Ensuring proper waste management and Green initiatives procedures are followed in order to support the Eco project.
- Assign tasks to Housekeeping Supervisors and conduct spot checks in common areas like housekeeping pantries, staff locker room and staff break room to ensure it’s well maintained and inspected by housekeeping supervisor.
- Possess thorough product knowledge of all chemicals, tools, and procedures required to run the housekeeping operation (e.g. carpet shampooing, floor polishing, etc.)
- Ensure the correct and economical use of cleaning agents and their safe storage and that the all day to day maintenance is reported promptly and followed up.
- Ensure lost property procedure is followed and is kept safely and regular follow up is done to ensure the lost property is sent back to the guest.
- Ensure rooms are released in a timely manner by all the Housekeeping Supervisors to comply with the guaranteed check-in time policy of the hotel.
- Prepare and record maintenance requests for all operational equipment and communicate this to the maintenance team or related supplier to maintain the quality of the equipment.
- Schedule periodical tasks such as carpet shampooing and spring cleaning; and supervise the activity to ensure cleanliness of areas is maintained.
- Ensure guest and cleaning supplies are utilized in an optimal way without any misuse and damages.
- Responsible for implementing new training topics of all team members and ensure they understand the purpose of their role and standards required.
- Prepare monthly training calendar for HK Supervisors and Linen runner to ensure it completed in timely manner.
- Conduct daily inspection of rooms and public areas to ensure all the areas are clean and well maintained as per the hotel standards.
- Monitor cleanliness of Guest rooms and public areas and provide feedback immediately when desired performance is not achieved to ensure Leading Quality Assurance standards are met.
- Ensure that all vacuuming, polishing, carpet care, general cleaning is done in a professional manner and according to established schedules.
