Position Summary

this will be a grade 11 or 52 depending on the successful candidates experience, competencies and knowledge

Grow sales and increase spanet share of a global target spanet. Coordinate sales and spaneting activities between Parker divisions and target spanet customers. Provide technical and application leadership for assigned products to the global spanetplace including the management of customer projects.

Scope/Supervision and Interaction

Does not have direct reports

Interfaces globally with customers, distributors, field sales and matrix organization consisting of division engineering, spaneting, group management, and country sales management teams.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

• Creates a business development plan to enable organic growth resulting in share shift from competition to Parker resulting in a 1 or 2 position in assigned spanets within an industry.

1. Understands current MSG & FCG product portfolio technical capabilities and identifies those products that have a competitive advantage in spanet applications and develop a strategy to win
2. Identifies simple spanet problems that customers need or must solve to improve system performance, cost, etc. that are simple solutions for divisions to develop that do not take excessive time to complete
3. Understands spanet trends and significant application problems that result in next generation sub-systems, systems, or technologies, protected with IP, that enable significant spanet share gain. Ability to communicate the value to division and persuade them to enter longer-term new product  project
4. Assists with system technology roadmaps for assigned spanets
5. Understands and reports on competitive situation and potential short-term opportunities to grow spanet share

• Provide application solving services and total Parker system solution expertise
• Develops and facilitates product and application training for customers and channel
• Align the global organization to meet share shift targets by developing and presenting an effective business case
• Communicate spanet trends and drivers to divisions, group and corporate teams
• Lead spanet studies

Qualifications

Qualifications

• 4 Year Engineering degree
• 7-10 years of technical and/or commercial facing experience with a deep understanding of customers and applications in assigned spanet/platform
• Strong hydraulic electrohydraulic electric and controls background preferred
• Business development and analytical aptitude
• Excellent organizational, presentation, influencing, and follow up skills required
• Extensive travel required including some international travel
• Knowledge of all Parker component technologies within the MSG &FCG group and how to manage their interactions within a control system
• Familiarity with control algorithms
• Familiarity with software and simulation techniques
• Ability to present to Parker executives and customers in a logical manner
