As the business expands, we are pleased to announce an incredibly exciting opportunity to be part of Qatar Airways Cargo Operations Team in Doha as a Lead Cargo Special Loads Officer.

About the role

As Lead Cargo Special Loads Officer, you will be responsible to monitor special loads queries of both freighter & passenger aircraft from global cargo network and respond by evaluating all possible safe loading methods and commercial impacts. This includes shipment level queries and flight level charter queries. Additionally, provide special loading instructions, technical solutions (e.g., Shoring/tiedowns) and operational support ensuring safety of aircraft/cargo in compliance with QR Standards.

As part of your daily responsibilities, you will also:

• Provide specialized operational/compliance solutions to facilitate safe transportation of special loads.
• Monitor and respond to chargeable weight queries received from Doha & network stations through CROAMIS, emails and calls by providing accurate chargeable weight information to sales team in order maximize revenue.
• Provide loading solutions to inquiries by calculating the number of ULD positions in the aircraft considering the shipment specifications in order to maximize revenue & space utilization.
• Respond to charter load ability requests by analyzing aircraft, equipment and commodity specifications and provide accurate load ability solutions in order to allow charter sales team with charter quotations.
• Analyze and develop shoring & tie down schemes for heavy cargo movements within QR Cargo operations considering shipment parameters and aircraft weight & balance limitations in order to ensure safe transportation on QR aircraft.
• Develop & publish specialized build-up plans and suitable aircraft loading combinations to network stations in order to maximize the aircraft space utilization with mandatory compliance to operational safety standards. Respond to AVI (Live animals) queries received from Doha, network stations and other cargo departments to ensure safe transportation of AVI in conformance to IATA Live Animal Regulations and QR policies. Monitor and approve "Hunting Trophy" shipment inquiries by validating the documentations to prevent illegal transportation of hunting trophies on QR aircraft.
• Provide response to the operational queries from Doha/Network Stations within set timelines in order to support sales team for faster response to customer queries.

About you

We are looking for a professional who possesses the following skills and experience:

• High School, Diploma, Bachelors Degree or Equivalent with minimum 5 years of job-related experience
• Proficient experience in Air Cargo Operations and Chargeable Weight Calculation
• Experience in Cargo Special Loads, Live Animals and Dangerous Goods Handling
• In depth knowledge in Aircraft Weight & Balance principles, ULDs and Aircraft Restraint Methods
• Expert in calculating Weight Distribution, Floor Load Limits and Shoring & Tiedown Scheme.
• Strong command of English language (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills, and presentation Skills
• Well versed with MS Office applications and other software/tools
• Organizational, stakeholder management and decision-making skills.
