Job Summary

ACAA’s Maintenance Supervisor – Airline Services will report to the Manager, Airline Services, and supervises Airline Services personnel ensuring that the airport complex, other airport related facilities, infrastructure and equipment are maintained in operational condition.

Here is how the Maintenance Supervisor – Airline Services will help: 

  • Supervise Airline Services shops activities, planning and coordinating maintenance work done by personnel and on-site maintenance contractors.
  • Supervise maintenance of Passenger Boarding Bridges, and baggage handling systems.
  • Ensure that baggage conveyances are operating in a safe and efficient manner, overseeing maintenance contracts.
  • Troubleshoot and program jetway and baggage systems such as PLC’s, VFD’s, and other upper-level controls.
  • Respond to all emergency calls from Operations and other departments, airlines, vendors, etc.
  • Partner with all relevant internal and external stakeholders (ACAA departments, airlines, tenants, etc) on maintenance-related issues.
  • Generate and assign work orders to appropriate personnel through JD Edwards for tracking emergency and routine maintenance work.
  • Work with department personnel to develop preventative maintenance programs on all facilities and equipment.
  • Review contractors’ invoices to assure compliance with existing contracts.
  • Meet with tenants, airlines and vendors to review all maintenance issues and maintain exceptional customer relationships.
  • Participate in drafting new specifications for maintenance contracts.
  • Assist with the development of standards, policies and procedures.
  • Participate in toolbox talks and weekly safety meetings with each trade group or composite crew.
  • Develop and implement employee work schedules according to union contractual requirements.
  • Develop and conduct maintenance and safety-related training classes, as assigned.
  • Conduct daily inspections of facilities and maintenance work/job sites to ensure compliance with organizational and departmental safety initiatives.
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned or required.

Qualifications

Requirements to apply for role of Maintenance Supervisor – Airline Services are:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Two (2) years maintenance supervisory experience in a union environment managing maintenance contracts in a reasonably sized multi-building complex; 5 years preferred.
  • Technical School Training or certification from a Trade School is preferred, and
  • Possess or obtain prior to employment a valid driver’s license. Note: license must be maintained throughout employment.

We also expect that candidates will demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and abilities in most cases: 

  • Strong ability to work effectively with union employees and manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Workday system and JD Edwards work-order system.
  • Knowledge of policies, practices and techniques of general management, administration and supervision.
  • Knowledge of upper level controls, programmable logic controllers, and automatic tag readers.
  • Knowledge of union contracts and disciplinary procedures.
  • Some knowledge of HVAC, mechanical systems and equipment, electrical systems, passenger boarding bridges, baggage handling systems, and facilities maintenance.
  • Some knowledge of preventative maintenance procedures, application, and requirements.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

CONDITIONS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment can vary from moderate to loud. This position may be assigned to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and will also be required to be on-call. This is a 24/7 work site and will require working all three shifts.
