Role PurposeAccountable for planning, implementing, monitoring, and controlling all security operations to ensure full compliance with CAAM and other regulatory requirements. Responsible for maintaining high security standards through effective personnel deployment and continuous performance and discipline monitoring. Oversees asset protection and smooth execution of daily security operations. Ensures sound administration by developing and implementing policies aligned with national/international aviation security regulations and airport-specific procedures. Also supports the Manager, Aircraft & Cargo Operations, in driving security quality improvements and reporting across operational units.
Key Accountability- Security & Operations Oversight: Plan, implement, monitor, and control security and operations functions and procedures. Establish and maintain effective communication between Malaysia Airlines, relevant airport authorities, and external entities to ensure seamless coordination of security-related matters.
- Regulatory Compliance & Advisory: Stay updated on national and international legal provisions related to aviation security. Advise the Manager, Aircraft & Cargo Operations, on any critical changes or developments.
- Emergency/Crisis Support: Assist the Manager, Aircraft & Cargo Operations during emergencies or crises. Act as the Security Coordinator when the Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) is activated or upon official declaration by authorities.
- Manpower Planning: Regularly monitor the structure and scope of current and planned flight schedules to ensure adequate daily manpower deployment for security operations.
- Operational Coordination: Coordinate operations with Ground Handling and other relevant stakeholders to ensure alignment and efficiency in daily airport operations.
- Budget Planning: Assist in preparing the departmental operations budget and provide recommendations to the Manager, Aircraft & Cargo Operations.
- Process Improvement: Review and enhance work processes and procedures to improve workflow efficiency and staff productivity.
- Operational Support: Ensure all operational requirements and support special assignments, such as VVIP flights or other ad hoc operational needs.
- Leadership & Staff Development: Motivate, guide, and develop team members while upholding discipline. Provide coaching and counselling to foster high performance and compliance with security standards.
- Collaboration & Reporting: Where appropriate, discuss and escalate important security issues to relevant peers and superiors, including Security Executives and Senior Security Executives.
- Other Duties: Undertake any other responsibilities or tasks assigned by higher management.
Qualifications & Working Experience- Bachelor’s Degree in any field with 5 years of working experience.
- Diploma in any field of study with 7 years of working experience.
Areas of ExperienceSecurity management, criminal justice, criminology, or any related field.
Personality Traits- Full understanding of the security process, best practices, regulatory requirements, and risk management.
- Knowledge of audit methodology, procedures and principles.
- Ability to solve complex problems, with excellent spoken/written communication skills.
- Knowledge of international, regional and national aviation security regulations and legislations.
