Senior Airport Operations Manager Overview:
Sun Country Airlines is seeking a Senior Airport Operations Manager to provide outstanding operational performance through effective cross functional leadership while also assisting in ensuring front line visibility and execution in station and corporate goals. This position oversees and manages the Ground Training department and the supply chain purchasing and station system distribution. Communicates all customer service-related policies and procedures and develops process improvements impacting station employees and Sun Country customers.
Essential roles and responsibilities of a Senior Airport Operations Manager:

- Collaborate with senior level management to provide strategic and operational planning input across all operational divisions to facilitate and execute Sun Country initiatives
- Manages and oversees the Ground Ops Training Department, curriculum development and delivery standards to ensure quality control within the ground operations department
- Develops and maintains statistical data, prepares information and reports pertaining to budgets, office forecasts, operations, and performance
- Makes department purchases, manages supply inventory for aircraft and station operations, processes statements and invoices for payment, responsible to explore cost saving opportunities and initiatives
- Interface with department heads, business partners, government agencies, airport authorities and vendor leadership
- Provide oversight and direction to stations group in new locations, and seasonal openings/closings
- Conducts Safety Risk Assessments, hazard identifications, institute risk mitigations when new Ground operations policies or procedures are introduced, present and action findings and recommendations
- Identify resources and qualify productivity results for department projects
- Investigate and assist customer feedback specific to airports and field service staff members
- Conducts periodic reviews of Ground programs and policies to ensure accuracy, standardization, and compliance at airport stations
- Author and content developer for ground communications, including memos, safety alerts, and SY Flyer Ground operations newsletter
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Airport Operations
The required qualifications we are looking for in a Senior Airport Operations Manager include:
- College degree in Aviation, Airline Management or equivalent
- Knowledge of regulatory framework for all functions of Ground operations
- Prior airline experience
