Job Description:

Description:The Government Relations Senior Manager, Naval Aviation Programs, reports to the Director, Naval and Coast Guard Aviation Programs, in Crystal City. He/she supports the Director and Mission Area VP, and interfaces with the Navy and Marine Corps Legislative Team in the following manner:
- Work closely with United States Navy senior staff, OSD, and other government agencies to coordinate and inform on Lockheed Martin acquisition, logistics, and sustainment programs.
- Fully support company legislative efforts for Lockheed Martin programs.
- Assist the Director, Naval and Coast Guard Aviation Programs, in the formulation of strategic priorities for the Naval Aviation portfolio, and in developing and executing the specific plans, goals, objectives and accompanying enabling strategies that support the Annual Strategic Action Plan.

Specific Job Description

This position will report to the Director, Naval and Coast Guard Aviation Programs, in a supporting role for all Naval Aviation programs. Specific duties include:

- Act as a Lockheed Martin Government Affairs (LMGA) representative for all Naval Aviation programs to include capture programs, keep sold programs, and new opportunities.
- Interface with and support Lockheed Martin business area counterparts in Rotary & Mission Systems, Aeronautics, and Missiles & Fire Control.
- Arrange customer meetings and conferences to facilitate business area presentation of product development plans, proposals, reviews, sustainment initiatives and capability improvements.
- Coordinate with the business areas and appropriate corporate/LMGA staff on all customer contacts, briefings and communications directed to LM customers in the Washington, DC area.
- Coordinate with the Director to maximize business opportunities on current Navy programs.
- Assist in efforts to gain/grow business in areas of emerging technologies, such as unmanned systems, hypersonics, and advanced weaponry.
- Coordinate with the F-35C Director, Air Force & JSF programs, to ensure synchronization across the strike fighter portfolio in support of Lockheed Martin Aeronautics.
- Work various sustainment issues as required on Lockheed Martin new or legacy aircraft.
- Participate in business development and aviation activities, as required, to include tradeshows and aviation-affiliated organizations.
- Coordinate with Director, Norfolk LMGA Office, on supporting Norfolk / East Coast Region-based aviation activities, customer meetings, briefings, and communications.
- Maintain familiarity and engage with Naval Aviation leadership in the Norfolk fleet concentration area.
- Travel as necessary to support LM business activities and Norfolk-based aviation engagements

This is an on-site (4 days per week) position located at our Crystal City, Arlington facility. This position is also on a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off, as business allows.

Basic Qualifications:
- Extensive experience with U. S. Navy Fleet operations, Navy aircraft logistics, and Navy customers.
- Thorough understanding of Navy requirements process and defense acquisition system.
- Washington DC-based Service Staff, OSD, and/or Joint Staff experience.
- Demonstrated excellent senior-level (Flag/SES/PM/O-6) customer relationship skills.
- Thorough knowledge of Planning Programming Budgeting and Execution (PPBE) process.
- Thorough knowledge of the DoD and Congressional budget processes.
Desired Skills:
-Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Service Legislative Affairs position or Legislative position in the House and/or Senate.
- Strong professional network within the Washington, DC aerospace and defense industry, and Naval Aviation community in the Norfolk fleet concentration area.

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
