This position supervises a team of inspectors to support production at the San Marcos, TX facility. A successful candidate will manage the execution of Quality Assurance objectives. This individual will be responsible for leading a team of Quality Inspectors as well as managing the overall quality inspection processes for the business. Sets day-to-day objectives for the achievement of immediate Quality Assurance goals and supervises completion.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Lead the quality technical team in ensuring product and process compliance by providing guidance and direction with regards to product quality requirements.
• Foster and maintain a cooperative relationship with key internal/external customers.
• Drive product and process improvements that ensure quality metric goals are met (Escapes, Scrap, Rework, Repair, etc.).
• Assist in oversight of Quality Clinic activity including escape investigations and systemic non-conformance improvements.
• Manage and prioritize substantial and diverse workload and changing priorities.
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement through the use of CORE tools (Standard Work, DIVE, proofing, etc.) to implement change.
• Lead the implementation of new inspection technologies that achieve process, reliability and productivity improvements.
• Attract, develop and mentor diverse talent in the quality technical discipline.
• Perform inspections as needed to assist in efficiency improvements when business needs dictate.
• Other duties as required by business needs.

Basic Qualifications:

• Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
• U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here:  https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62

Preferred Qualifications:

• Direct experience performing Quality Inspections in an aerospace environment.
• An understanding of Aerospace Quality Procedures, Quality Management Systems, AS9100 and Regulatory Agency Requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to interface with all levels of management and external customers.
• Experience in using Continuous Improvement/Lean tools to implement process improvements in a manufacturing environment.
• Prior Supervisory experience is preferred
• RCCA experience or ability to drive and sustain corrective actions in a manufacturing environment.
• Strategic mindset and ability to adapt to continuously changing business environments.
• Ability to develop and KPI’s to drive a team to business goals with a proactive mindset on leading indicators.
• GD&T knowledge and ability to read and interpret engineering drawings to support problem solutions.

The salary range for this role is 66,000 USD - 130,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
