Role Introduction
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer, GLSHK
Cathay Cargo focuses on enhancing transportation solutions by integrating trucking and intermodal services to optimize fleet networks.
As a Trucking and Intermodal Manager, you will orchestrate business and operational processes to ensure a seamless expansion of the fleet network and deliver efficient transportation of cargo, aligning with the goals of Cathay Cargo. You will need strong leadership skills, experience in logistics, and a strategic mindset to drive efficiency.
In this role, you will gain experience in logistics management and operational strategy, leading complex transportation projects. You will have the opportunity to contribute significantly to the growth and efficiency of the fleet network.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the business owner for trucking and intermodal services, collaborating with regions and other headquarters business units to define success metrics and secure necessary resources
- Ensure financial performance aligns with the strategic goals of Cathay Cargo
- Enhance the cargo fleet network through partnerships with trucking and intermodal companies
- Prioritize and implement initiatives to deliver top-tier trucking and intermodal services
- Extend network reach and complement air services to expand spanet presence in key regions
- Collaborate with various business units to maintain stable trucking and intermodal operations
- Ensure reliable schedules and on-time performance for all services
- Support teams in negotiating with intermodal partners, focusing on commercial priorities
- Drive schedule and network expansion through automated distribution channels
- Optimize the booking process and enhance operational efficiency
Requirements
- University degree in Business or a related field is essential
- Over eight years of relevant work experience with a minimum of three years in management roles
- Strong understanding of the international trade industry, particularly in the Chinese mainland
- Knowledge of Chinese mainland import and export regulations is advantageous
- Familiarity with trucking models and experience in cross-border customs compliance
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills with strong business acumen
- Global insights into cargo spanets and industry trends are beneficial
- High cultural awareness and strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration
- Proven ability to implement strategies and deliver results consistently
- Motivated individual with a willingness to learn and embrace new initiatives
