Qatar Airways Group is seeking a senior executive to lead the Technical Division Base Maintenance & HMCC business. The executive will be responsible for the entrepreneurial management of all Base Maintenance and HMCC services performed on Qatar Airways fleet of aircraft. They will ensure that all necessary maintenance, including defect rectification, is performed in accordance with the standards specified in the CAME, MOE, TPM and in compliance with QCAR-145 requirements. Also responsible for any corrective actions resulting from quality monitoring audits within the area.

Accountabilities:

Strategic:

• Recommendations to top management for development of in-house capability with cost analysis and supporting business cases.
• Develop procedures to improve efficiency and productivity.
• Develop and maintain an efficient quality monitoring procedure.
• Establishing third party contracts. Planning and co-coordinating with users, vendors, consultants, HIA and relevant authorities on facilities maintenance, development and requirements.
• Development of 5 year business plan. Expansion planning in long, medium and short terms in relation to Maintenance, facility, staffing, equipment, IT, capacity and changing industrial and business opportunities and environment.

Operational:

• Ensuring that operation of Base Maintenance is performed in an efficient and cost effective manner. Responsible for the overall performance, management and operation of Base Maintenance and HMCC and enhancement activities.
• Management of the overall performance to ensure the desired aircraft internal and external appearance standards is achieved - divisions’ performance monitoring and key performance indicators data gathering, complication and presentation.
• Ensure that all work performed is carried out efficiently according to the standards specified and QCAA/EASA regulations and Qatar Airways procedures and policies. Ensuring all Senior Managers, Managers and Supervisory Staff in Base Maintenance and HMCC discharge their responsibilities in accordance with company policies, guidelines and their respective terms of reference.
• Performs forecasting, budgeting, planning and provisioning of manpower resources and equipment, including the procurement and maintenance of facilities, assets, tooling and ground support equipment required to support maintenance work undertaken by the division.
• Oversee the implementation of procedures and processes of the division in relation to the maintenance of the aircraft, quality, safety and the environment in accordance with regulatory agencies’ requirements and company policies.
• Responsible for implementation of corrective actions resulting from non-conformance findings as contained in Compliance and Safety Audit Reports.
• Perform other department duties related to their position as directed by the Head of the Department.

Essential:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 10+ years of job-related experience
• Management training.
• Trade related reinforcement training.
• Detailed knowledge of Base Maintenance processes.
• Ability to effectively communicate and manage individual department sections. Effectively guide a large department and ensure continuous development.
• Ability to effectively manage the financial aspects of the department.
• Sound knowledge of productivity management and air legislation.
• Resilient and tenacious; able to pursue goals despite obstacle.
• Command of English language.
• Proven ability to perform under pressure, be agile and flexible to meet the demands of a dynamic environment.
• Managerial skills - Ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow. Strong mentoring and coaching skills. Ability to train and develop subordinates skills. Ability to foster teamwork among team members.

Preferred:

• Engineering Degree is an advantage.
• Licensed Aircraft Engineer is an advantage.
