Job Title: Aircraft Component Assembler
Job DescriptionJoin our dynamic team as an Aircraft Component Assembler. This role is perfect for individuals with experience in basic sheet metal, riveting, assembly methods, and common shop practices. You will be responsible for assembling, modifying, and installing aircraft components, sub-assemblies, and structural assemblies to meet customer requirements. Your expertise will also be crucial in identifying nonconforming parts, conditions, and manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
- Work with blueprints, specifications, and work orders to assemble components that meet quality requirements.
- Complete necessary data gathering to facilitate assembly progress.
- Set up and operate various shop equipment, including squeezes, precision measuring tools, drill motors, and countersink cutters.
- Troubleshoot any issues that arise while continually seeking process improvements.
- Perform required rework or changes during the assembly process.
- Assemble major components of sub-assemblies, major assemblies, and smaller bench work assemblies.
- Move and obtain correct parts, materials, tools, and assemblies.
Essential Skills- Interpreting blueprints
- Ability to communicate verbally regarding work processes
- Ability to write and record process information
- Time management
Additional Skills & Qualifications- High school diploma or GED, or one to two years of related experience and/or training
- Six months of vocational training
- Experience with complex assembly and structures, preferably with companies such as Spirit, Boeing, Textron, or Cessna
- Five years of experience in complex assembly and structures

Work Environment
The work environment is frequently exposed to vibration and occasionally involves working near moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles. The employee may encounter exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals. Noise levels are generally loud. Employees work full-time on the first shift, from 6am to 2:30pm, Monday to Friday, with potential overtime on Saturdays. The position requires wearing steel toe boots.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, Kansas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
