Morson is currently recruiting a Senior Manufacturing Engineer on behalf of our defence client in Barrow-in-Furness. This role will support manufacturing and assembly operations, providing technical expertise across complex, precision-engineered components within a regulated defence environment.

• Provide technical guidance and problem-solving support to manufacturing and assembly teams

• Act as the interface between manufacturing, assembly, and engineering functions

• Lead PFMEAs, including process mapping, risk mitigation, and procedure development

• Support design reviews with a focus on manufacturability and right-first-time delivery

• Develop and improve manufacturing processes, tooling, and methods in line with safety regulations

• Interpret engineering drawings and produce manufacturing/stage drawings

• Drive continuous improvement activities across quality, cycle time, and process efficiency

• Support works order creation, routings, and technical documentation

• Strong background in manufacturing engineering within a complex engineering environment

• Experience with rotating component manufacture (turning, milling, boring, grinding)

• Knowledge of gear manufacturing processes (e.g. hobbing, shaping, profile grinding)

• Strong understanding of GD&T and dimensional measurement systems

• Experience with CNC programming

• SAP experience within a manufacturing engineering context

• Competence in 2D & 3D CAD

• Understanding of heat treatment processes

• Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively with production teams
