Position Summary
The Catalog Researcher is responsible for conducting thorough research and updating the catalog application sections and the master product file within the Catalog database. The role involves writing and inputting new applications to support the product catalog, performing spanet research on potential product lines, and ensuring accurate global cross-referencing of part numbers.
Responsibilities
- Is responsible for conducting research to update catalog application sections and master product file within the Catalog database.
- Writes and inputs new applications into the database that supports product catalog.
- Performs spanet research on potential product lines, receiving direction from management.
- Is responsible for global-cross research by identifying part numbers not cross-referenced in the Baldwin catalogs, and through the appropriate amount of research, determine if the part number can be crossed.
- Runs and utilizes triple cross to help identify additional cross-references.
- Completes special assignments of a related nature as requested.
- Maintains application and/or new equipment universe files. Ensures records are current.
- Responsible for answering written, fax, and telephone inquiries concerning application and other catalog information.
- Attends trade shows to survey equipment and gather information necessary for application research.
- Operates general office equipment including a personal computer, fax, copier, and printer.
- Is responsible for quality and safety of own work and compliance of all company procedures and policies.
Qualifications
Required: High school education with course work in business.
Preferred: Associates degree with emphasis in spaneting and approximately three years experience in the sales and catalog fields.
