Based at our client’s facility in Bedford, this role supports the efficient operation of the stores and logistics function. The position involves the safe operation of a forklift truck, moving equipment and materials across site, and assisting with general warehouse activities.

Applicants must have demonstrable experience operating a forklift truck.

• Support warehouse management to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the stores function

• Operate a forklift truck to safely move equipment and materials around the site

• Assist in maintaining accurate stock control and logistics processes

• Maintain competency across all aspects of logistics operations, including IT systems and materials handling equipment (MHE)

• Support colleagues and provide on-the-job guidance where required

• Demonstrate a customer-focused, proactive approach to meeting operational requirements

• Be flexible and willing to support other areas of the organisation as business needs require

• Undertake tasks within safe levels of competence

• Identify opportunities to improve processes, working practices, and team efficiency

• Forklift truck driving experience (essential)

• Security Clearance (SC) held previously or currently is highly desirable

• Experience within stores, logistics, defence, Armed Forces, or MoD environments is advantageous

• Comfortable using multiple IT systems

• Physically capable of handling and moving materials around site

• Strong problem-solving abilities

• Good communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to remain calm under pressure and resolve issues effectively

• Willingness to question processes constructively and contribute to improvements

• Motivated to learn new skills and develop within the role
