Job Title: Heat Treat OperatorJob DescriptionAs a Heat Treat Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining vacuum furnaces and other equipment to ensure the quality and precision of aerospace parts. You will perform tasks according to ARP-1962 and other customer specifications, ensuring top-notch quality and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to ARP-1962 and other customer specifications.
- Operate vacuum furnaces, freezer, and quench tanks.
- Mix and apply solutions to parts and components.
- Ensure calibration stickers are current before equipment operation.
- Verify tooling to ensure parts meet specifications.
- Perform visual inspection on braze joints before and after heat treating.
- Conduct Rockwell Inspection on parts or test samples as needed.
- Complete all associated paperwork following work instructions.
- Stack parts in baskets and verify cleanliness before oven loading.
- Observe metal color and instrument readings to adjust temperature controls.
- Record data from each run.
- Perform preventative maintenance as per schedule.
- Apply braze parts for aerospace parts as per specifications.
- Maintain a clean work area at all times.
Essential Skills- High school diploma or GED.
- 0-5 years of experience for Level 1, 5+ years for Level 3 Heat Treat Operator.
- Ability to learn computer control programming.
- Excellent communication and cooperation skills.
- Ability to read and understand AHT and VHT processes and procedures.
- Basic computer skills.
- Capability to read and understand work order instructions and station plans.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Entry-level position with little or no prior relevant experience.
- Ability to handle small, delicate parts and standard measuring equipment.
- Ability to acquire basic skills for routine entry-level operator tasks.
- Works well under close supervision or defined procedures.
- Specialized training in Vacuum Heat Treat, Aluminum Heat Treat, Slurry, Braze.
- Certifications in Rockwell, Conductivity, TYS (3 years), Hotwork.

Work Environment
The position is for the 1st Shift, Monday through Friday, from 5:30 AM to 2 PM. The work environment requires physical activity, including lifting or moving up to 50 lbs. It is a moderate noise environment with occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles. Specific vision abilities such as close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus are required. Forklift operation may be necessary.
